With this food microbiology online course, you will understand essential food hygiene and safety practices, including personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitation, and temperature control.

Microbiology is the study of microscopic organisms, often referred to as microbes, which include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. These tiny organisms are found everywhere: in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil we walk on, and the food we consume. While some microbes are beneficial and even essential for processes like fermentation and digestion, others can cause food spoilage and serious foodborne illnesses.

Description

Microorganisms are everywhere. They’re in raw ingredients, on equipment, and even on your hands. Some are helpful, like those used in fermentation. This is the good part of food microbiology. Others, however, are troublemakers, and will to spoilage or foodborne illness if you’re not careful. This food microbiology course helps you understand the difference and what to do about it.

This online food microbiology course gives you a clear, practical understanding of how microbes impact food production. You’ll get to know which microbes are useful and which ones you need to control. It covers real-world safety practices like sanitation, handling procedures, and controlling the conditions where microbes thrive. For example, factors like time and temperature.
