Asbestos Survey
Our risk assessors can carry out the asbestos management survey, which is the standard requirement. It’s done to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any asbestos-containing materials in the building that could be damaged or disturbed during normal use, including foreseeable maintenance.
If you’re planning any refurbishment or demolition works, a separate asbestos survey is required to locate and report all asbestos-containing materials in the areas affected.
We are also on hand to assist you with reviewing existing asbestos surveys and registers to ensure they are compliant and current to latest guidelines. You can find out more about asbestos management surveys on the government’s website here.
What is an Asbestos Management Survey?
An asbestos management survey is the standard type of survey required in the UK to help duty holders meet their legal responsibilities. Its main purpose is to locate any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) that could be disturbed during normal building use, including maintenance and minor repairs.
The survey identifies the type, condition, and location of asbestos so proper steps can be taken to manage the risk. A management asbestos survey is a legal requirement for non-domestic buildings built before the year 2000 and is essential for keeping people safe from asbestos exposure.
